2nd grade to 7th grade
- Build a mini stage that shows the setting of
the book and include a written description of the setting.
- Create a diorama of a main event in the story
(include buildings, people, plants, animals, cars, roads, etc) and a
written description of this scene.
- Dress as your favorite character and give a
description of them.
- Create a comic book page relating to an event
in the story.
- Act as a reporter, and report a scene from the
book as if it was real.
- Make a book jacket for your book and describe
why they made it that way and how it has to deal with the story.
- Design puppets with one or more partners to
act out a scene in the book.
- Make a board game that has questions dealing
with the book that will lead you to advance and win.
- Sketch a part of the book that is your
favorite and describe why.
- Build pipe cleaner people and act out a scene.
(Fast, cheap, and good way to act out a scene)
8th grade and up
- Add a new character to the story and tell how
they play a part.
- Write multiple-choice questions for the book.
(10-15)
- Do a book talk.
- Outline the story.
- Make a brochure advertising the setting of a
story.
- Write a description of each character in the
book describing all features of him/her (physical and emotional).
- Write about a character’s life years from now.
- Write down important quotes of characters and
describe what affect it will have on the rest of the story.
- Write the plot of the story as if it were in
the newspaper.
